Genting |
Saturday, October 14, 2006 |
I know its been a long time since I've posted, but I've been quite busy and simply, theres not really been much to blog about. On the 10th of october however, a few of us did go up to genting to celebrate Richard's birthday.. Shoutout to Richard (henceforth known as R).
Anyway, 6 of us went up to genting in Dan's car, it was nice of him to offer to drive us. We had a nice dimsum breakfast and went up to genting. We spent the first half of the day in the outdoor/indoor theme park. It was a blast, bumper cars was fun with all 5 of us ganging up on R, we were trapping him in corners and bombarding him from all angles. We did it so well and hit him so hard that even the people waiting in line noticed and started to shout 'OooH' when we did hit him. That was really fun.
The outdoor themepark was great, but I've been there before and the only thing that got my heart racing was the 'Solero Shot' for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, its an amusement park ride, basically you're strapped into a chair (feet dangling) and dropped from a high height... more than 10 storeys high? I'm not really too good at estimating distances. Anyway, I managed to get Raj to ride it for the first time, he actually rode it for another 3 times... Linda and Elena also rode it (once) and then refused to ride it again. Dan and R would not sit on it no matter how hard we tried to persuade them. And we have a great picture of R on the corkscrew, I'll post it up as soon as we get it scanned... take my word for it, its priceless.
Anyway, of course, after dinner we set out for the casino, the main reason we went up. R wanted to go which was why we were in genting in the first place. Most of us played roulette. If you haven't played it, its quite fun. Some analysis is required (so we say) plus lots of dumb luck. After playing safe and losing abt rm20 after betting on 'red' and 'black' and the other outside bets, some how I had the feeling to bet on '0' *note* there are 37 numbers from 0-36 on the roulette wheel and for the different ways to bet, please refer to elena's blog. :p anyway, by some stroke of luck, the ball landed on '0' My heart was racing as I saw the ball bounce around wildly on the roulette wheel. That one spin landed me 36*5=RM180. heres what my winnings looked like at the time
Thats a total of RM225 by the way, cos I had changed RM50 in the beginning. See the theme park tag on my wrist? Anyway I really was excited and I decided to stop for a while, I had the urge to try my hand at blackjack or other card games but I decided to walk away a winner. I did play some other games later, and I won another RM10, theres really too much to talk about here so if you want to know more, just ask. Have you heard the saying money won is twice as sweet as money earned? Let me tell you... its all true. I thought I was lucky.... wait till you read Elena's blog. |

Retro night at zouk. Polka dots was the theme.... if you can see from the lousy pic taken with my camera phone, the entire zouk was covered with polka dots. They had some dancers to kick start the night. The best music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, My aunts would be right at home. For ppl who don't know what sort of music was playing, we had ace of base, gloria gaynor, abba, bee gees and songs from grease just to name a few. Imagine the people in zouk dancing to YMCA!! It was just silly fun all the way around. You didn't have to worry about being a lousy dancer, the more akward you look the more you fit in :P
It was just plain silly fun. I really wish more of my old friends could have been there. You know who you ppl are! I cannot emphasize how fun it was.... I was doing the bloody twist! My parents would be so proud. Hmm.. maybe I should bring my aunts along next time. Oh and Linda formed a conga line... and got most of the people on the dance floor moving along.
On the flipside there really wasn't much of a crowd and I thought quite a lot of the younger crowd left at about 1 plus and at the end there were more older clubbers. I guess it wasn't their cup of tea. Like I've been saying, the whole night was just silly fun, dancing with wild abandon and not worrying abt if your moves look cool. We had people spinning on the dance floor, doing the agogo, talk about blast from the past. If you don't mind/enjoy retro hits from the past, I personally recommend it. Two thumbs up.
*Mambo Jambo is on every first wednesday of the month Damn I sound like a nightspot reviewer or something.....

Revenge |
Wednesday, October 04, 2006 |
If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that. For those of you who are unaquainted with what I'm talking about, please click here. In a nutshell, my housemate, Linda, splashed me with a pail of water. To add insult to injury, she had to publish it on her blog. Well, like my friend william said,
And if you wrong us shall we not revenge? And revenge I did have. How did it happen you ask? No cheap tricks, no backdooring, no camping. Just a straight on full frontal assault. I knocked on her door and when she answered promptly emptied the pail of water all over her. Let it be known. I am nobody's bitch. A ceasefire has since been agreed. Peace reigns in the household.. for now....
